If this furnace has a variable speed blower it will ramp up at start up then settle down to its set operating speed. If you have an all metal return with no duct with inside insulation you will get blower noise through your return.

If it was just installed i ould suggest you call the company that installed it. If you did that already then call them again and have them send a tech that knows what they are doing.

The tech's are so incompetent, I'm just trying to find out where the noise can come from if its not the motor. Thanks

most of your answers on this site are coming from incompetent techs.this is a new unit but you had the blower replaced?is the blower properly fastened to the unit?maybe an incompatent tech left a few screws off?

Yes the blower motor was just replaced. After replacement there was a smell in the house like burned oil or grease but that wnet away. The sounds is a similar to a rotating noise (wom, wom) when the blower starts turning i dont know if it can possibly be an electric noise. I dont think its the cage rubing against the housing. The noise disapear once the blower as reach spead. Thanks (can I attach a mp3 of the noise here)

Was the capacitor for the motor changed at the same time. Maybe it is not wired correctly.
Be careful sometimes you don't get a second chance

The only part that was changed was the motor itself, in fact the sound, sounds like an electric motor that you apply a lot of constrain on to.

DC motors make a weird noise sometimes when the start up something like a deep hum that might repeat itself a couple times as the fan starts spinning. The noise is caused by the simple fact that DC motors have very little torque. If its continuing on for as long as you say is the sound getting faster as it goes as in the sound speeds up as the motor runs? If so it sounds like the motor is having a tough time getting up to speed and could just as well be something on the supply side not sending enough power or a faulty motor(which would be strange to have two in a row). Either way you definately need to get them back and if they can't figure it out try and get a call into rheem customer service. I have never had to deal with there CS department but hopefully they are responsive.
