pressure switch is located behind top door near burners-looks like the picture on your other post.it has rubber hose(s) and two wires attached to it.to see if the pressure switch is stuck closed ,after your 90 sec blower on the small blower near the pressure switch will start.unplug one of the wires on your pressure switch and plug it back in.if its stuck open unplug both wires to your pressure switch and connect them together.if this is problem your furnace will light.DO NOT leave it this way .if your pressure was stuck closed it needs to be replaced and if it is stuck open you might have a number of serious problems that cannot be overlooked call a tech.

Just jumping the wires will not work. The switch MUST start in the open position. With the wires disconnected from the switch call for heat. aprox 3 seconds later jumper the 2 wires. This will fool the system into thinking the switch started in the open position.

Uh oh.

You could have a bad pressure switch, but what usually causes the #31 fault code to throw is when there is a bird stuck in the flue pipe, or something is blocking the chimney. That's assuming that the inducer motor is starting.

It would be dangerous to force the furnace to run under that condition.

Now, does the inducer motor (at the base of the fluepipe in the furnace) come on & run before it starts throwing the 31?
