ive got a luxaire high efficiency furnace, the pressure switch keeps tripping either staying open or closed not particular on which it chooses. is the switch going bad or is it deeper?
figured my problem out. i dont have a condensate pump. the hose to drain the excess water run off from the exhaust was pinched and the water was building up, tripping the switch.

could you elaborate Duke, I some times use my mouth to test a switch and I can't think what damage a blow would do.
to the problem is the tube to the switch on the bottom of the draft fan housing? it may be full of acid/water. If not drow on the tube and hear the switch click then reset itself, if it sticks replace it, there are a number of other possibilites, report back.
Be good to your fellow man not nice there is a difference.

Answer, These pressure switches are made to sense minute pressure differentials. The force exerted by a persons mouth could destroy the diaphragm in the switch. You, being a tech, can probably get away with it but I wouldn't suggest it to homeowners

If the pressure switch is sticking in the closed position after a call for heat ends and the draft inducer shuts down you've got a bad switch. Replace it.
