I have an intertherm lp furnace in my home and I will say just ok with trouble shooting it,so I know my neighbors to the north can help,in the past I have had to replace control board, bad fan relay, last week flame sensor, and last year igniter,so now igniter glows valve opens and lights then goes right off eventually giving me a code 4 ign.failure check ground, what the %$#&! I am a heatpump guy any info would be great,I have checked all wiring is something going screwy with my board again? Thanks guys!!

If you have a meter like a Fluke 16 that can read microamps, check the microamp signal from the flame sensor, you'll need to break the circuit open and put the meter in series with the flame sensor, like taking an amperage reading with an old Amprobe. Generally you need to have a constatnt reading of above 1 microamp for it to go dependably. But check the spec's for your furnace if you can, I have worked on a couple that were still happy with less than 1ľA. If the reading you get is not sufficient. Cleaning the flame sensor and the burner might help, also check the ground and the neutral. Having a good neutral is more important than the electrical ground, as long as the burner is well grounded to the chassis. If this is a MH furnace, sometimes a problem with the HX or venting can make the flame pull off the end of the burner, then it will fail on flame sense, like if the baffle in the top of the HX has come displaced. This should also show up on a meter as a low ľA reading. If you are getting a good reading, like 3-4ľA and it's still failing on flame sense, then I'd lean towards replacing the board. Sorry for the long post, good luck.
