I'm new to direct venting. Installer ran two 2" white PVC pipes through wall. They stick out about a foot and are nothing but the pipe. Looks like crap basically. Is there any better solution?

Also, they are mounted directly under a window in the living room. So when the furnace is running you can see the clouds of flue gases floating by. Nice. The house siding and eaves are wood. Am I going to have problems down the road with discoloration and/or rotting? I can't believe all that humidity and stuff in the gases won't harm wood eventually.

Depending on the length of the pipe, fittings that were used and what brand of furnace, you can use a "bay Vent". That usually makes our customers happy.

If it ain't broke don't fix it!
