My gas furnace sparks but wont ignite consistantly. It usually happens at night after we turn down the thermostat. Eventually after multiple system resets the pilot will light and the fans will kick on and blow heated air. If i get consistant sparking but not a consistant igniting of the pilot, would that mean i have a gas supply issue to the ignitor?

if you have an intermittent pilot, the pilot lights proves flame and then opens the main gas valve.when your igniter is sparking you should be able to measure 24 volts at the gas valve between PV and MV/PV.intermittent problems are quite often due to a bad board, sending 24 volts at times and other times not.
