Hello Gentleman,

The draft inducer is making a squeeling , sometimes on start up. I believe I need to or will be meeding to replace it shortly. since I haven't done it before I was wondering, anybody here done it. Do i need to buy special caulk? Its my understanding that the replacement is: A164 fasco.

The model number of the furnace is G24M3-75A-4

Thankyou very much.

Are you a tech? If so I will give you some advice about it. I do lots of Lennox. It is NOT a DIYer project. The collector box has to be removed and new gaskets installed. One of the harder ones to do. You will have to buy it from Lennox as you need their gaskets to do it properly and to get the correct RPM unit. I don't like aftermarket ventors that much. Had a Fasco one be out by only 50 rpm on a Ducane and it wouldn't pull in the pressure switch properly. The OEM worked fine.

Yes, Mr. Yuri I am a tech. I have been in a/c amd refrigeration for 3 yrs. This furnace is belongs to a relative. I am visting here for about a month. Her furnace is a 80%. According to the install manual, the combustion blower is connected to a flue box. i don't believe it has a collector box. Sorry if I mislead you, Mr. Yuri.
Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou.

I mix and match my terms occasionally (flue box/collector box same thing, both collect the flue gases)(inducer fan/ventor fan, same thing). That ventor fan has its mounting screws INSIDE the flue box and are inaccessible without removing it. At least the ones I have seen and the 80MGF cousin have them that way.

Here is the official Lennox tech manual for you:

Make sure you clean the gasket off well and use a bit of RTV silicone to hold the new one in place while putting the box back on.

Good Luck
