Ok, so I'm in a mobile home, '95 model. Came with the Coleman Evcon heating/ac.
About 5 or 6 years ago I had the capacitor replaced in the outdoor unit. Fan had quit spinning and then of course, no cold air. I don't recall the exact details from back then.
Now, I get home today, fire up the ac, notice it isn't getting cold. I step out back and hear a loud buzz coming from the outdoor unit. No fan spinning again. And the unit is noticeably warm/hot ... so I figure the freon is circulating ok, just no fan and a loud buzz. I'm no hvac mechanic .... but I wasn't about to pay another $200 service call for a $30 capacitor.
So I'm thinking cap again. Just ordered one for 30 bucks. The contactor looks ok. No bugs, pits or burns. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll try a new contactor... than if nothing, I'll call the service guy lol.
Just curious if anyone else would care to suggest anything? Just thought I would post here real quick. Part won't be here till probably monday or tuesday.

Pull the disconnect. Look at the capacitor. Any signs of bulging at either end or any other noticeable physical deformities? That's the usual sign of a bad capacitor.
Try and spin the fan with a pencil through the top. Does it spin freely and quietly? If not, the motor bearings may be bad. Look for a thermal reset switch on the fan motor. It may need to be pressed, but that's unusual.
Look at the points of the contactor. Are they smooth or do you notice pitting or signs of excessive arcing (burnt places on or near the points)?
If you are uncomfortable with a multimeter, now is the time to call someone and stop reading.
You should be sure you are getting 240 volts on the load side of the contactor (where wires from the condenser components connect). Once you are sure you have a power to the condenser (contactor works) then call for cooling and listen. Is the loud buzzing coming from the compressor? Since you mentioned the condenser was hot, I am assuming the compressor is running, but not the fan. Now try again to spin the fan blade (power still on and call for cooling). Does the fan try and turn, even slowly? If yes, replace the capacitor. If no, you may need to investigate further.

Could be the fan capacitor again. Hopefully it's not the fan motor. DO NOT turn on your A/C until the correct diagnosis is made. You will over heat and hurt your compressor.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
