I have to use the space for second floor addition where the flu is. I have to get rid of the flu and use direct vent unit. Is there a way to convert my fairly new Lenox elite series G50uh furnace to direct vent? or If I have to use B-Vent how much space do I need around it? I'm trying to gain like a foot where the damn flu is , all this work for a foot. Pla help me, whats your toughts on this. Thanks as allways for any help.

You cannot direct vent that unit. Clearance around the B vent chimney is determined by your local gas and building codes. Try contact them or a licensed chimney contractor for info.
