Have a new home with gas Bryant furnace and central air in Oregon. All winter long, it has been a constant dripping of water from the drain pipe comming out the back of the house from the furnace. You would have water drippig thru summer months using the central air, but why would it continue thru all other months, while using the heater?????????

I,m not familiar with your climate or codes in Oregon but I think that should drain into your plumbing system. Personally I would never drain a condensing furace outside.

In the summer the evapator condenses and produces water.

If your furnace is a 90% or higher then it will condense as well.

80% furnaces are non-condensing

90%+ furncaces are condensing

Life lesson #12 Know when not to do it yourself.
WOW That Can Hurt!!

Thank you for your info, it is a 90%, so that explains the water.

When that pipe freezes the water will be in your house.
