I have an older (2002) Amana HVAC unit. The model # for the furnace is CCA48FDC (Amana 90 Air Command). The model # for the outside unit, which is was told is a heat pump is RHE42A2D. I had the unit checked out before purchasing the home and I replaced the older style thermostat with a programmable Honeywell model. It has worked well for a month. Saturday, I turned it off and "aired" out the house. When I turned it back on Sunday morning (it was 64 degrees in the house), it cam on normally, ran for about a minute, then quit. No breakers were tripped. Nothing looks amiss on the thermostat. But it will not work. Nothing works, not even the fan. And there was no smell indicative of a burned out component. Any ideas how to proceed next? I hesitate to call a tech because I am guessing it is something simple.

You will need to reset your furnace by turning power off then back on. The watch sequence of events and report back. How does your filter look?

Actually, I have reset the power multiple times with no effect. Yesterday I checked the power at all locations and it was good. The filter was changed less than two months ago and is good. I also reverted back to the old thermostat (not programmable). Nothing on it seems to work (no lights nor signs of voltage), so I am guessing the transformer for the low voltage is bad or there is a circuit board in the furnace or A/C controlling the thermostat that is defective. But nothing is visible.
