Furnace I installed is making "poof" sound and blowing a small amount of air from the front cover about every 2 minutes while running. Problem stops when the front cover is removed. No gas smell, furnace runs as normal.
This symptom began when we moved the exhaust and intake through the roof on a remodel after having a temporary outlet to the side of the house. Exhaust has 2-45s for a 20' vertical rise, intake has 2-90s and 2-45s. Roof outlet is combination intake and exhaust
Furnace is a Goodman GMH95.
My best guess is that it is an fresh air intake problem.

Disconnect intake at unit and run furnace. If problem goes away then it's the intake pipe. What is the model# of furnace? What size is the flue? Are both intake and exhaust pitched towards furnace on all horizontal sections? Also I'm interested in what your flames are doing so next time watch it when you fire it up and report back

When you changed the vent direction, what out let option did you use?

Is the furnace installed, discharge right, left, up?

ICBW, but I think the GCH9 is the counterflow version of this furnace, so it is not a down-flow, right?

Re-check page 15 of your install manual.

The furnace is in the upflow position (as per pg 15).

The furnace discharge is up.

After checking pg 15 everything I did seems OK.

Thanks for the advice.
