Hi guys!

Question. I live in arizona and have both a normal a/c unit as well as an evaporative cooler. I'm looking to upgrade to a programmable thermostat and wanted to know if a multi-stage tstat would be able to control both my a/c and my mastercool evap cooler?

Currently I have separate thermostats for each, right next to each other in the hallway. Seems like I should be able to kill 2 birds with one stone but I can't find the answer by googling.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Do you want the swamp cooler as stage 1 cooling and the condenser as stage 2?

Is your system a heatpump or straight cooling?

I wouldn't recommend combining the controls.
The swamp cooler would introduce humidity that your condenser would have to remove.

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

I'm a total newbie, so bare with me.

I have a Coleman "all-in-one" unit on the side of the house.

Is this a heatpump? Like I said, I know none of this stuff. I really need help from you guys! :)

Then I have a mastercool evap cooler on the roof.

I want to be able to have the evaporative cool run for a couple months, until it gets humid, and then I'd switch it over to run off the A/C. So I never plan on having both running at the same time.

The switch-over doesn't necessarily need to be automatic.

Could you recommend a specific model that would allow me to do this? The only real requirement is that it is programmable (5/2 day).

Thanks for all the help!
