have a trane xl 80,8 years old.code flashes twice.meaning,no flame.will light up,but stops after 10 seconds or so.will repeat same thing 3 times,then present code,now what?

Does your ignitor glow red? Do you hear the gas valve click and gas flow?
Does your ignitor have any visible damage?
