I have an American Standard Heritage 13 Heat Pump System. The models are: Outside Unit 2A6B3036 Air Handler 2TGB3F36 The system currently has a non-programmable ACONT401 thermostat. I purchased an ACONT802 7 day programmable but am having difficulty figuring out the wiring. I think this is the same as the Honeywell's VisionPROŽ TH8320.
On the 401, all terminals are used except two slots labeled OT. They are: R - Red W2/X2 jumpered to W1 - White Y - Yellow G - Green o - Orange B - Blue The new one has several more connections: I assume I use the ones labeled for Heat Pump not Heat/Cool.
RC,R, O, Y, G, B (RC and R are jumped) Y2, F, X2, W1, S1, S2
I connected the followng: RC/R - Red O - orange Y - yellow G - green B - blue I then jumped w1/x2 and connected to white. Now when I turn set the thermostadt to cool, the air is warm. If I set it to heat, I hear the controller click and the display says heat on, but nothing happens.
I'm assuming something is wired incorrectly. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Jack of all trades Master of none!

You have wired it correctly. You must configure your stat for heat pump operation. Set option 170 to 7.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
