The fuse in my Robershaw 9520 thermostat is blowing. Any tips on where to look first for the issue?

Thanks,

Warming up....

Houston204,

All wiring looks good. Even took off the outdoor unit wiring cover and all connections are good and all wiring looks good.

Air handling unit fan will run fine in "ON" position with thermostat if off position. Once turn to A/C - fuse blows.....

P.S. - thanks for the reply....

Remove the 2 wires to your condenser at the furnace and give your stat a cooling demand. If you still have a short, it proves that the short isn't in the condensor wire or condenser.

If the short isn't present when you isolate the 2 wire to your condenser... You might look down into the condenser to verify that a pressure switch wire hasn't shorted to the hot gas line.

Is this a heat pump?
