Hello Forum,
I live in a condo in Basking Ridge. Over the winter PSE&G came out to fix the furnace and replaced the circuit board. Today I tried to turn on the AC and it did not go on. When I opened the furnace panel I noticed a white wire that was not connected to anything. I think there is a brown wire casing with a red and white wire that comes fromt the compressor. The red wire is currently connected to a yellow wire with a wire nut that I believe comes from the thermostat. The white wire is not connected. Can someone tell me where this should go. I tried to do some searches and one site indicated that it should go to the "C" terminal. I briefly tried this and the compressor did go on but the fan did not seem to go on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turn off power and connect it to C.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

I just connected the wire as you suggested. Is it safe to assume that the red wire from the compressor going to the yellow wire from the thermostat is ok?

Yes, the stat yellow to condenser red is okay.
The color of stat common may vary...
