Hey Guys

I've replaced my old Baystat 239 thermostat with a Honeywell RTH7400D. My system is a Trane XE1000 heat pump with a TWE042C140B1 Air Handler. I followed the manual line by line and used these wiring guidelines for a heat pump.

Old G goes to new G
Old Y goes to new Y
Old R goes to new R (R to RC jumper is in place)
Old O goes to new O/B
Old B goes to new C
Old W goes to new Aux
Old X2 goes to new E (X2 is em. heat)
Old T gets taped off

I set the system (code 0170) as heat pump with auxiliary backup (option 7). I set option 0190 to 0 and option 0240 to 9. The thermostat clicks periodically, so it is obviously doing something. But it is unable to activate the fan, cooling, or heating. I have doublechecked all wires. I'm not sure what to do next. Although I had the main 50 amp A/C breaker off the entire time, I saw a little discharge when handling the thermostat wires. Is it possible I blew a fuse somewhere? Any other ideas?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank God it's cool outside!

Adam

You turned off the outdoor unit breaker instead of the air handler breaker.

Older models had

Newer models will have a blade type automotive fuse available at Autozone.

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

I found the bad fuse on the air handler. Should be a simple fix. This time I'll turn off the heat strip breaker first.

Thank you for the help!!
