what would make the blowers to keep running after i shut off the a/c? the inside unit keeps running after the a/c is shut off,the outside unit shuts off but the blowers keep going.

Some units run the inside fan for up to 2 minutes after a system call, if longer than that, make sure the fan switch is not in the ON position, otherwise, the blower relay contacts could be stuck. Would need the relay/circuit board replaced, depending on which your unit uses.

now would a bad relay/ciruit board cause the burners not to ignite also?

This sounds very much like how my problem started. I noticed that the blower was running constantly. I got it to stop by turning off the main power to the unit. But, after turning the power back on, the burner would no longer ignite. My blower does go on and off by using the on/auto on the thermostat now but still not getting a flame. Everything seems fine, ignition is glowing bright, exhaust fan humming away but no gas/flame. I'm still working on it.
