My unit is not blowing air and the line outside is frozen. Is it a fan problem or could it be something else? What is a ball park figure for replacing the fan if that's the problem?

Filter is replaced every month or so. The unit was frozen last night but is thawed now. The outside fan is working but no air is flowing. I know I should call a pro. but if there is something simple I can check to save money I will.
yes it is a zoned system.

Thanks

There are some simple problems that can cause this but I need to know if indoor blower is running. I understand it's not blowing from vents but that could be due to zone dampers being stuck closed. If you turn fan switch at stat or zone control to on and get close to INDOOR unit you will be able to hear the blower running or you may hear nothing which would indicate that it's not running. Also if running you will feel air blowing from duct seams and connections to indoor unit.

OK then you will need to call a tech. Still could be several things so a meter would be required from this point forward.

Could be a number of things. you should shut down outdoor unit so system can begin to defrost. If blower is running, it would not blow thru a frozen coil which you obviously have. Or blower not running will cause coil to freeze. Can you tell if fan is running by listening for it close to the unit?
How does your filter look?
Is this a zoned system?
