I have central heating/AC. Turned on AC yesterday after no use for months. Compressor went on but fan didn't. Also no fan when push "fan only" on thermostat. However fan work when heater is operated.
Any ideas? I know a few things about electric, wiring, etc.
Thanks

When you say fan, I assume you mean the indoor blower that circulates air in your house. Since it runs when you call for heat, that would indicate the motor is okay. Since both the AC and FAN-ON (at the 'stat) usually use the same fan control circuit, I would suspect that circuit is your problem. Post the make and model number of the furnace since that's where the fan control circuit lies.

If your stat is located just above or below your return air grill, it may only be dusty. Remove the stat leaving only the subbase with your wires connected. Blow out the contacts and switches. While it is off, jumper R to G. If the fan runs, it is only a stat issue.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
