I just installed a b13603-21 contactor on an amana a/c, however there are two wires I don't know where to put. There is a white wire that goes to the C on the furnace circuit board. The red wire goes to the Y on the furnace circuit board. a picture of the contactor can be seen here http://www.waterheaterman.smugmug.com/photos/20695934-L.jpg
i'm thinking i attach them to one of the connectors on the side were the electic line is installed (L1 and L2). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Y and C connect to the 24 volt terminals on the contactor.

okay, so i was wrong. I thought i was supposed to put them on the L1 and L2 plugs? So I need to put them on the side plugs. The yellow wire(Y)on the same side as the black T1, and the white(C)on the same side as the red T2? Also, I have a total of 8 wires. I have two additional wires connected above the T1 & 2 connectors on the plug type connecters.

Thanks again!

I've seen a start cap pop it's top, causing it to short to the 5 minute time delay relay before.

This sent high voltage through the stat wiring.
The thermostat melted down the wall, the stat wire resembled an automobile fuse link, the transfomer burned, the timer cooked, and the contactor was also damaged.

I don't recommend connecting your low voltage wires to the high voltage terminals.

This was a beeper call on a Halloween night and they had cooling when I left.

Well I sure don't want that to happen! :)

Anyway is the brown wire on the diagram going to the "C" and the yellow wire going to the "Y" on the control board?

I just want to make sure before I do it!! Don't want to blow the house up.

Thanks a bunch! I got her up and running. ARS was out here and quoted me $260 to replace it. I bought the part online for $25. That is pretty high. I understand people have to make a living, but don't lie about the prices. They came out a replaced a controller board on my trane furnace. It was under warranty so I only paid labor, but on the invoice they showed the part costing $460. i found it online for $99. I'd say that is a bit of a stretch. Anyway, thanks a bunch for the help.

For $260 you would not have to risk injury, damage to your house, or have to trust me. It would also have been fixed already.

Earlier this year, I removed power to a 460 volt package unit. I put my hand under the electrical box by the gauge ports and accidently grabbed a capacitor that someone rigged in a strange spot. I was kneeling in mud and the cap wouldn't let me go for a while.

Makes you think of who would raise your kids.
Be Careful.

I completely understand what you are saying, but it doesn't justify being dishonest in my opinion.

Thanks again, truely!

If they sell it for 260 dollars it is too expensive but not dishonest.

Do you think Ford and Chevy sell cars for the same price that they pay for them?

How would that pay employees, building lease, trucks, maintenance, training, permits, product, and turn a profit?

We would charge $79 to come out and $98 for the contactor installed during normal bussiness hours.
