Colors mean nothing. We will need to know what terminals those wires were connected to on the old stat. Also it looks like the new stat does not have emergency heat feature.

You will have to open up your outdoor unit, and indoor unit to determine where these wires go. Terminals on stat will match the terminals they connect to in your units. Hint: I believe HP1 will be connected to Y.

I'm assuming you have a heat pump, which is located outside. Looks like a big box with a fan on it. Open up both units and note what color t-stat wire connects to which terminal or wire in unit. Post results and I will help you re-wire your stat.

Sorry, from what you've posted I'm now more confused. It looks to me like you have a G terminal on the outdoor unit? And no G terminal on the indoor unit? This has to be clarified because something isn't right and I don't want to tell you to wire your stat wrong.

Your stat wire runs to the indoor unit. Remove the panel to the fancoil and write down that terminal = wire combination there.

There will be 2 sets of wires, the set using green is from your stat.

Pictures can be posted on this site using www.photobucket.com
upload your picture, Left click IMG Code, right click and past on your post.

Post pictures of your watersource heatpump. Especially the field wiring connections.

jcwinnie.biz/wordpress/?p=2034

Can you see a model number on your heatpump? I might be able to bring up your manual.

We have a Lennox tech from Canada on this site. Yuri might be more familiar with your system.

Air cooled split system heat pump. We will need the color of each wire connected to each terminal at the unit in your basement. Not necessarily what is on the diagram. The field wired connections.

I think that you are mistaken.
If yellow connected to 3 outside it would trip your low voltage breaker or pop a fuse with heat or cooling demand.

Post pictures if you want further assistance.

This one helps some.
C (or X) = yellow (common)
Y not connected inside (possibly black if you post a pic)
G = green (fan)
R = blue (24 volt)
W2 = orange (secondary heat)
O/B = (I suspect red, if you post a pic I can verify this)

The diagrams help establish what it could be. Post some pictures of what it is. (The outdoor unit actual wire connections)

Where did you get that obsolete stat? Is it already configured for your system? It appears that you have gas heat inside. Is this the case?

These terminal are labeled. Similarly to the labels at the air handler. This picture does not include the terminal labels.
It is closer though. They are above the screws.

You might also include the destination of the black and white, field installed, control wire that is visable running along the bottom of the unit. (to the left somewhere)

We only need Y and O/B. Does this board have a labeled Y and O terminal that we can trace back to our field connections?

If you left click the letters "IMG Code" you can post your pictures on this site. That is all that I an doing.
