Hello,
I had a service company come out through a appliance warranty claim with a noise problem when the heat came on. While the tech was here I told him to go ahead and do service on the unit and also asked him to pull the blower and clean it. What he found in his repair was the draft inducer fan went bad. On his next trip out he replaced the draft inducer but never checked full operation of the unit. A few days after he was here we needed some heat and the blower wouldn't come on but the draft inducer and burners did. I am not going into full detail on my discussions with the appliance warranty company and the service company but they wanted to charge me more for the repair which the tech said it was the ignition module, which I thought should have been covered under the service and not the repair because the blower did work before. I don't see anything on the wiring diagram called a ignition module.
I got to checking some things today and made sure the wires from the blower were securely connected to the controller. Now I have the blower running with the heat and air but there is some issues with heat.
While i have the thermostat calling for heat the blower runs and the draft inducer runs but the burners don't come on. I thought the blower didn't come on until the furnace burners kicked on. On the controller the status light flashes 4 times in a row which means thermal protetction divice open.
My furnace is a American Standard Freedom 80 and the Controller is a White and Rogers 50A50-473.
Anybody have any ideas to help me out! I sure would appreciate it! Kevin
Kevin

Check for any resetable limit switches.
I suspect the fuse link has failed when your inducer did. It would heve to be replaced.
Do you own a meter?
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

I ohmed out the limit switch on the blower and it is open. This makes sense because the blower worked on air but not heat and it is a heat limit switch.
Just think I was going to get charged $60.00 and was told it was the ignition module. Man you just can't trust anybody to do work for you anymore!
Thanks Alot, I appreciate the help! Kevin
