I live in a home that's about 4 years old, has electric central air, gas heat and gas hot water. I paid twice as much last winter for heat, hot water and electricity as my son. His house is all electric, at least 700 square feet larger and the lights are on 24/7.
As a result I am considering switching to a heat pump however I've no idea how logical this is or is not.
What we have for ac looks like a heat pump but is only doing a/c.
Any Ideas???

Thanks so much from the land of leisure!!!

If your gas furnace is fairly new (4 years old), you might consider a dual fuel setup.

You keep the existing furnace and replace your outdoor unit and evaporator coil.

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
