the question i have seem difficult for me to figure out and no resources to guide me. i have a a/c unit enclosed in my garage, the intake is in the house, the grate gets this thick brown hairy dust buildup on it regularly, only one vent in my house, which is the closest one to the unit puts out the same dust in the one room, the dust collects on everything, the ceiling fan will have an inch of it in a week and its only the one room, 2 air hepa filter dont help much, and new filter 4 times a year, it collects on everything it seems sticky and thick but like i said only that one vent and room...

any help would be appreciated...

I saw this on a TV show once. It was caused by the insulation in the house. It was installed backwards(vapor barrier on wrong side) causing insulation to deteriorate. This insulation broke down into a brown dust that was naturally being pulled into the home and doing the same thing you describe.
