This continues my last post.
Well It's not working again. So with the AC on, contact not ingauged, I got 24 volts on the left side- 2 terminals 1 wire attached and nothing on the right side-2 terminal 1 wire attahced.
Just checking If this is right way to chk for voltage like someone mentioned? "" 1. Is there 24v between Y and C where low voltage wires connect to unit? "" I hooked up ground wire of the meter to ground and the other to the terminal with a wire attached to it, is this correct? I get the same voltage when I push in the contact and AC is working.

Also to do this chk-
"" 2. If yes then check for 24v across the contactor coil.""
Which wires should I be testing?

FYI, After I push in the contact, it seems to work for a couple days.

Thanks for the help

Don't waste your time checking voltage to ground. When we ask for voltage readings we will specify between which 2 wires or terminals. So if I ask for voltage between Y and C that means put your meter on Y and C at the same time. C is not ground. When you test a contactor coil you put the meter on both low voltage terminals at once. Contactor coil terminals on the sides unless contactor is mounted sideways:

With the AC on, contactor open(not working),
I get 24 volts when I test contactor coil, both low voltage terminals at once.

As for Y&C, I looked on my wiring diagram, it shows C is on the CAP(124volts)and Y is from the indoor thermo that goes to 1 side of the coil(24volts). Is this correct?
I want to make sure these are the correct terminals/wires so I dont damage anything. Thanks for the help again.

Ok then if you have 24v at the contactor then you do have 24v at Y and C. C is the other low voltage wire connected to unit.
Replace the contactor.
