Hey fellas. I was on this service call today. System had high head pressure but I can't seem to figure out why. Do you think it might be the thermostat? Or maybe I should add freon?

Notice how the floor joists have been notched out to accomodate the unit. How thoughtful of the builder.

About 7 years ago I came across the same exact problem. OMG what a pain in the ass that service call was; midway through I got cought in a torrential downpour, got bit by a spider, and ripped my lucky trousers!

Oh, poor Duke.....it must have taken all day to try to figure out why. Did you try removing 9 pounds of refrigerant to see if that would bring the pressure down? Just kidding...I have actually seen similiar, 2 inches from the top.

Needs a bigger hp condensor fan motor to move more air. Let me know how it turns out (have fun removing it).

Yuri do you think a 3 hp will be enough? Just kidding. I will be re-installing this unit next week in a location that's not under a deck. Too bad for me this P.O.S. has no service valves.

For what my company charges I would sell the guy a new unit. That POS has about 8 hrs left on the compressor. Seen a few under decks, they suck. The new higher SEER units are higher, need to chop a hole in the floor LOL.

Believe me I tried but when I gave the customer an estimate to replace the system he nearly had a heart attack.

He will be calling you soon anyway when it croaks. That way you get paid twice. Good deal.

A 4 day heat wave is coming to CT. I'm hoping that this POS will be DOA when I get there.
