I have trane xe1200 since 2002. I tried to turn on either fan (auto or on), cooling ( set temp very low) or heating (set temp very high). Only heard a click. Nothing happens. I restart the circut breaker. Switch to a working digit control (from my another a/c), still not work. What other way that I can try to trouble shooting. If it is fuse problem, where the fuse located?

Do you have gas heat?
Where do you hear the click, the stat or the furnace?
A gas furnace will have a single pole 20 amp breaker. It usually isn't the one labeled AC.

When did this problem start?
If it was in the cooling mode, you might only have a cut in the control wire to the outdoor unit.

If you have electric heat or a heat pump, you may need a low voltage fuse after repairing a cut in the control wire.

Trane was extremely slow to start using low voltage fuses in there gas furnaces. You would probably need a transformer if your control were shorted. I would still check for a 3 amp, violet, blade type automotive fuse on the circuit board.
