MY HEAT PUMP IS ON (HOT AND SUNNY) WEST SIDE OF MY HOUSE, AND I WAS WONDERING IF I INSTALLED A WATER MISTER TO MIST THE COOLING FINS WILL HELP THE UNIT COOL MY HOUSE? I AM ALSO THINKING OF INSTALLED A SHADE FENCE (WITH ROOM FOR AIR FLOW)ON TWO SIDES OF MY UNIT. THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE.

That is one of the craziest questions I've heard yet. Your a/c should cool your house even on the hottest day of the year. If it does not then something is wrong and you should have a pro service it before it breaks down.

Don't use CAPS PLEASE. Spraying water is not a good idea as it may clog the coil with dust, tree lint etc that floats around in the air. You need lots of room for air circulation so I would stay away at least 18 to 24 inches and have NO obstruction over top of the unit. Shade is not that important as the unit is not a dark color. Washing the coil/ cleanliness and getting the freon level checked once a year is far more important.
