Hi all,

I posted this in another forum but didn't get much help.

I currently have a Comfortmaker AH Model BYMB024-030
Goodman Conden. Model CE30-1GB

I started having a problem towards the end of last season with the air handler not shutting down after the condensor finishes its cycle. I would assume there would be a delay for a couple of minutes to purge the system but the AH just runs and runs. I have to shut it off at the circuit breaker to kill it. Last night I fired up the system for the first time this season. The AH did not come on until I switched it on at the stat. I let the system run for about an hour then shut it off at the
stat. At the time, the AH shut off but then about 15-20 min later the AH came back on even with the switch set to off on the stat. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Eric

Thanks Yuri!

Yes I have an older electronic t-stat. Could the time delay relay be faulty? Where is the circuit board normally located
just out of curiosity. I don't think I'll get involed with it
if more than a simple fix like a T-stat.

Thanks again!

In the air handler, but it really sounds like the tstat. Buy the Honeywell as they are REALLY good. Make sure you shut off the power to the air handler and LABEL the wires before you take them off the tstat.

Yuri,

A quick question regarding the wiring on my tstat.

My existing tstat is wired as follows

out of the wall are three lines

line 1 is R,Y,G

line 2 is R,W

line 3 is R,W

The tstat wiring is as follows

line 2 and 3 (W) to W on tstat

line 1 Y to (Y) on tstat

line 1 G to (G) on tstat

lines 1 & 2 R to (Rc) on tstat

line 3 R to (R) on tstat

We have central air and hot water baseboard heat.

Should I just wire my new tstat(FocusPro 6110) the same way

Thanks again!

Eric

Thanks again Yuri!

I'm off to get a new Honeywell T-stat. Hopefully this
solves the issue. I'll post to let you know.

Thanks,

Eric

What type of thermostat do you have and its age. If it is an older electronic type you may need a new one. Honeywell Focus or Vision Pro are the best. Sounds like it is not energizing the fan relay properly. After that it may be a expensive problem with a circuit board. Sounds like the tstat to me.
