I have 11 years old, "Inner-City" HVAC model NUGM100EHB1 serial# L964245514; Honeywell cirquit board ST912OC 4016.
The pilot would not ignite nor compressor would start. When I set thermostat to either heating or cooling only the fun will start immediately. I called 4 technicians. Two of them had no idea, one told me that heat exchange element was damaged and suggested replacement of the system. The last one, who came, played with wires and heating worked for few days. Then it went to the previous state; only blower would start immediately. No heating no cooling.
Any idea what to do?

You need a better technician. I have seen LOTS of them with bad heat exchangers so it may be shot. You may also have a bad thermostat but really need a quality tech to check the whole unit. See if any of your neighbors, friends, co-workers can recommend someone reputable.

I replaced thermostat but it did not make any difference.
