I just replaced my old GE Motor 5KCP39PG with new AO SMITH DL1076 Blower Motor.

GE wire diagrams are differ from AO SMITH. AO SMITH DO NOT HAVE WHITE COMMON WIRES:
Black-same as AO, Blue-same as AO, Yellow-same as AO, Red-same as AO Smith, White-? differ, Green-same.

AO SMITH wire diagrams:
Do not have WHITE=COMMMON WIRE instead two extra wires. (these wires have both male & female connectors (purple wire connected to white wire) and Brown connected to orange wire. these can be unconnected

My question is I need a White wire from AO SMITH (Common wire)? What do I need to do? Any answer will help!!!

joseph

Your common wire may be labeled L2 on the motor diagram.

Those short leads are to reverse rotation.

Yellow is common.

Your old motor is a 4 speed, your new motor is a 3 speed.
black is hi speed, blue is medium, and red is low speed.

The old motor had a medium hi and a medium lo.
