i have a amana asx 4 ton condensing unit with 2 stage copeland scroll compressor. the furnace is a hallmark lbd115 oil with a zettler fan center. the furnace is set up only to use 1 stage cooling. does anyone know if you can wire the condensing unit to operate in a single stage. if so should it be wired to operate y1 or y2?

If you only want 1 stage it should be Y2 (jumper Y1 to Y2)

Why don't you run a lower blower speed with Y1 and a higher speed with Y2?

THE OIL FURNACE HAS A ZETLER FAN CENTER WITH ONLY A Y TERMINAL CONNECTED TO THE FAN MOTOR. ITS NOT A CONVENTIONAL LOW VOLTAGE WIRING TERMINATION BOARD WITH 2 STAGE OPTIONS Y1 AND Y2

If it has a 3 speed fan motor, I'm confident that I could utilize more than one speed with the addition of a relay. It would not, however, be as good as a variable speed furnace.

It seems that I have upset you since you choose to use all capitals, so I'll leave you to your single speed.

I THANK YOU AND WELCOME ALL ADVICE. I AM TYPING ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT JUST MAKES EASIER TYPING FOR ME.DO YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER FAN CENTER THAT YOU CAN SET UP A Y1 AND Y2 TO A DIFFERENT FAN SPEED. THE FAN IS A DIRECT DRIVE 3SPD.

Add a relay which interrupts the circuit to High speed.
Wire the new relay normally closed to Medium speed.
Wire Y2 to the coil of the new relay to initiate High speed.
