Take a pic of it in place and post it on Photobucket. Left click the IMG link and then post it here. Copy and paste. Tons of Honeywell relays out there and we need to see it. Why did it smoke. New relay may smoke also.

http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll270/nickpostolache/honeywellrelay.jpg Ok so wih the heat wave, I had the unit running on Saturday morning for about 2 hours. I decided to replace the filter, I turned off the unit (from the thermostat), and turned back ON. I couldn't hear the compresor and the fan outside kicking back On and I went to check at the furnace (in the basement). There was smoke slowly going up from the Honeywell relay. The relay has Thermostat wires on the side.

I would replace that 1-3/4 ton unit for a 2-3/16 ton unit. Just kidding. That is a Fan center. If it smoked then it's probably the transformer part of it. Go to your outdoor unit and look at the low voltage wires that go to unit. You may need to open up the unit and look inside too. You may find these wires damaged from rodents or a weedwhacker. This will have to be repaired before replacing the fan center.
