i have a older (80)s fraser johnston unit.my problem is when the thermostat removes its 24v from contactor it opens ok but my condensor fan is still getting voltage. contactor is a single pole.i noticed this when walking bye unit fan was running slowly.when breaker is shut off and turned back on motor then just humm's.run capacitor?

Be careful, I have seen this when a unit is not properly grounded and a short is present. If this is your case, and you kneel on the ground and remove the panel, You can become the ground.

i checked my grounds and they are all good.could it have voltage getting past the capacitor?
