ok on a newer 13 seer rheem heat pump condenser how does the low voltage wiring go?


yellow-is for the contacter
brown - common
orange-i think it is for the reversing valve?
blue-?
red?

The colors mean nothing. What is imortant is the terminals that said colors are connected to. Having read your previous post I would believe it's wired correctly if it ever worked. Your problem is either a short in the wiring or a shorted component. You will continue to blow transformers until the short is found and fixed. With indoor unit OFF measure ohms across the contactor coil and across the 2 reversing valve wires.
Consider adding a 3amp automotive type fuse to the R wire from transformer to prevent blowing another one.

Rheem will normally use blue for the reversing valve (energize to heat).

So standard color codes would be...
B= blue
R= 24VAC=Red
C= brown
W= white
Y= yellow
G = green (not used outside)

no i am sorry this was two seperate units i was asking about.but as far as the blown transformer goes is it possible that it is in a sequencer?

Sure could be a sequencer. Check ohms across the heater( bottom terminals on either side). Compare ohm reading to other sequencers.
