When replacing the 25 year old thermostat with a new Ritetemp 6020. I believe I have blown the tranformer fuse, at least that what the tech from Ritetemp said. None of the wiring diagrams matched my unit exactly and apparently, I wired it wrong. My problem is - There is no fuse! I've traced every wire- No fuse -no inline fuse- no pop up reset button nothing. The transformer itself looks fine It's a Rheem transformer #46-18788-05. I can't buy parts today because it's Sunday. It's also 95 degrees, and the wife ready to kill me. My question - Some transformers are not fused ? And could I have fried any thing else ?

Most older units will not have a fuse. Transformer is probably shot. Usually just the transformer wii go but other things could go too.Be sure to correct the wiring before replacing the transformer. Ritetemp could be wrong too. If you can recall the original wiring we can help you wire new stat. Do this: connect R and G together. If fan comes on then transformer is OK.

I tried putting red and green together. Got nothing. I guess the transformer is bad. Thanks for the easy test. Some friends had suggested replaced the 4 giant brass fuses, but nothing I heard indicated that they might be blown. I'll look for a hvac parts supplier and get transformer 1st thing this morning. Ritetemp's tech gave me the correct wiring over the phone, but thanks.
We all slept in basement with fans. Not too bad but still getting the evil eye.

Happy wife. Happy life.

Those big brass fuses are in the line voltage circuit(not blown). If you are fortunate enough to have blown a fuse it would be in the low voltage circuit inside furnace.

I've got the transformer. But it has changed over the years. The wiring isn,t the same. Old one- 2 yellow wires one side , other side black and red with a non used blue. New one- yellow and blue on one side , other side black, white, red and orange. What do I do with this ?

Yelolow=R
blue=C
You will need to wire the other side with whatever wires are for the voltage you are using. 1 wire is common which you will use.If 120v then use black and white. etc etc.
