I'm trying to replace the 25yr old Rheem transformer. the replacement's wiring has changed over the years. Old unit had 2 yellow wires on one side. Other side had a black, a red, and a non used blue. New unit- a yellow and blue on one side other side- a orange, a red, a white, a black. Do I NOT connect the orange and white ? and connect the 2 yellows to a blue and yellow ? This is puzzling.

What color is listed as common, on the side of your transformer? Is this a gas furnace using 120 volts or a Fancoil (electric heat) using 240 volts?
Some transformers use black for common. This one uses white. So it would use black and white for gas heat and orange and white for electric heat.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
