I have a Trane TCONT803 thermostat controlling a TRANE two stage XL19i straight cool system. I generally like the system, however, I really want to tweak the settings to reduce the amount of cycling it does between the small and large compressor (at times it seems to hit the large compresser for a while about every 5 minutes). I'm perfectly willing to accept more temperature drift to reduce the amount of cycling. I don't see a way to access the temperature bands it responds to, but I do see options to adjust the number of cycles per hour for each compressor and to go to more or less aggressive control schemes. Unfortunately, I don't know the effect of changing these settings, so I'm looking for recommendations. Which way should I tweak these, or is there something else I should be looking at?
