Hello, I am a complete novice in this area, but I thought I would ask for help in troubleshooting a problem. I have a trane XE 1000 that will not operate at all. The thermostat has no power and the outside unit appears to have no power either. I have checked the inside breaker box as well as the outside fuse box. No problem with the inside breaker box while the outside seems to be OK as well. There are no fuses in the outside breaker just a box with two prongs that close completing the circuit. What do I do from here. I am looking for additional fuses, but can't find any. Please help

Thanks for the help.

JC

They really all have ant? Are you sure it isn't lizards or mice, or a bad capacitor? I have not seen many problems caused by ants.

Check the circuitboard in the indoor unit. If you are lucky there will be a blown automotive type fuse on it. If not then your transformer is blown. Either way you have a short that will need to be found and fixed before doing anything.
