I have an Amana heat pump which is a 2H/1C.
I am trying to replace the stock Amana thermostat with a Honeywell programmable model TH4210D1005. Honeywell told me that it is the only one of theirs that is compatable because of the wiring.
The existing Amana utilizes the W, R, C, G, O, Y and B wire terminals. No wire is attached to the L.
The Honeywell has E, Aux, Y, G, O, L, R, B, and C.
Am I correct in assuming the W(Amana)=Aux(Honeywell)? Do all the other letters correspond equally with no wires attached to the E and L terminals.

Thanks!

y is you condenser power o is the reversing valve
likly wiring would w to y and y to o depending if your reversing valve is energied for heat or cool most likly its cool but that can be changed in the back programing then b to aux which if installed is your electic heater coil back up
you will need to check the wiring at the air handler
if confused call a pro

Connect the new stat almost the same as old. W will connect to AUX. Add a jumper between E and AUX.
L=unused
