Hey all,

Hoping to get a little advise on what is needed for setting up my workshop with central air. I already have the unit, but need advise on the size ducting and how many runs I need.

The shop is 24'x24' with a 9' high ceiling. There are no interior walls and have full access to the attic above.

If you need the model numbers off the outside unit, blower, and condenser coil...I will get them.

I appreciate the help in advance!

You have a 3 ton condenser and will need ~1,200 cubic feet per minuite of air flow through your duct system. Research ducts and you will learn how big a duct will carry how many cfm of air. eg... a 6" round metal duct will carry ~120 cfm. So in your place, assuming the 6" duct is used to supply all the supply registers, you'd need 10. But duct systems taper... at the supply plenum will be the biggest sized duct. As you take air away to supply registers, you will also reduce the size of the main trunk.
