The gas heat comes on with an outside temperature of about 45 F. I would like the heat pump to run until it is 35F or less before it switches over (gas is getting expensive). Can the thermostat be programmed to do this or is it factory set forever. I have a bryant duel fuel system and a Bryant TSTATBBPDF01-B thermostat with an outside temperature sensor.

Push and hold FAN for 10 seconds, Scroll to option 11 and set it to 35. This will enable your heat pump to run untill the outdoor temp is 35 degrees.
