Hi,

I have been lurking on the site for a while. I would like to get some information if possible. The air handler fan often does not shut off when the AC does, even if I completely disconnect the thermostat. I can run continuously for hours. Sometimes it goes back to normal and shuts of when the AC does (or shortly thereafter). I am pretty sure that I need a fan relay in the air handler. I would like to know what to ask for at the parts store. The existing relay has “ESSEX RBM” stamped on it and six posts. “7815” is printed on one side and there is a paper label on another side but it is completely illegible.

Can someone provide me with some part numbers and a description of what to ask for?

I would also like to learn something about this air handler unit. I am leaning towards thinking that it is a FirstCo Ceiling Unit. They look the same and the schematic has an HWA designation (FirstCo currently offers an HX series and HW may have been the previous iteration?). The home was probably built in the 1980s.

Any input would be welcome.

Switching relay SPNO-SPNC with a 24 volt coil.
(single pole normally open - single pole normally closed)

That sounds far away. Try AC&R, Grainger, Johnstone or Johnson supply.
