I have a haier a/c window unit and the condensor coil freezes as soon as the condensor kicks on. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may happen and possible solutions.

Thanks,
Chris

The blower motor is not running due to a faulty run capacitor.

Which capacitor is the "run capacitor"? Where is it located at?

It's only speculation from the limited information provided. It could also be a relay or switch. Does the indoor fan run? The cap is usually found with the other controls, behind the dial or buttons you use to turn on and adjust your unit.

They will hold a charge for up to 2 minutes after removing power. Be Careful.

Sorry, but it's actually the evap that freezes up not the condenser. Unless its a heat pump, then it would be the condenser that would be frozen.

Most of those units have a dual shaft motor. One blade for the evap and one blade for the condenser. It's probably the fan motor. Amp it out or just try to spin it. If it is hard to spin the bearings are bad. Rarely, do you find bad caps. Or at least thats the case for me.
