Hi,

I have an AC issue that I wanted to run by you guys, so I don't get taken for a ride by a local conractor.

I have a separate unit for upstairs, downstairs. The downstairs unit runs just fine.

The upstairs is not giving any air through the vents at all.
The compressor outside; it comes on, fan spins like normal, the mental pipe is cold like it would be.
The unit upstairs; has an audible hum, as if it is 'powered up' The breakers have been toggled. The filter is new and clean.

When the thermostat is set to either Auto or On, i get no air volume whatsoever from my vents.

Just to verify, I am NOT getting warm air, I'm getting no air at all.

Any ideas? Anything i should look at, attempt, or begin, in order to produce a diagnosis?

___________
Thank you for your help.

They really all have ants? Are you sure it isn't lizards or mice, or a bad capacitor? I have not seen many problems caused by ants.

Possibility of a blower motor/capacitor, blower relay or loose wire connection between thermostat and indoor unit.
