Purchased an outdoor woodburner and am getting ready to install. Does a heat exchanger have to be placed before the A/c coil in the furnace for fear of freezing? If my oddly shaped plenum doesnt fit my heat exchanger is it ok to place the heat exchanger in the cold air return? Lastly, when my heat exchanger is installed, it will not fit the ductwork tightly, so should I put a frame around itso that no air can pass by without going through the heat exchanger? If it matters, I have a 2 yr old thermo pride oil furnace... Thanks.
