Hi!
I am having troubles with my unit:
The compressor is starting, but not the fan on the unit. All the casing is getting very hot in a bout 20 sec.
Can you please tell me where to start to look? I do have a multimeter, but I don't know the values to look for.
I posted a picture of the board so you could point where to mesure
here
Thanks in advance!

Sorry for late reply, it's always raining up here :(
I just tried it this morning, but for no reason the fan is working! (so yes, I do have 240V...)
But all the system is not starting as fast as usual. On the thermostat, I hear the "click" when I lower the temp. But it takes 30-40 sec before anything happens. It's seems a little faster if I put the thermo to "OFF" then back to "COOL" 2-3 times. If I remember correctly, usually the blower in the house was starting right away with the click of the thermostat, no?
The big cap is not swollen at all.
Yes, my meter can mesure caps.
Any idea about the intermitent problem? The fan motor was not stuck, I tried in the first place on Monday to give push with a small piece of wood.
Could it be dangerous to just let it go like it for now? The unit got so hot without the fan, I am worried of frying something.
Thanks in advance!

Remove power, wait 2 minutes, manually push in the contactor, write down your existing wire = terminal combo (probably as pictured above) and remove the wires from your cap. Measure your capacitor from C to Fan and C to Herm. It should be within 6% of rating on the side of your cap.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

Hi again,
The values of the cap should be 7.5uf and 80uf and the readout is 7.4uf and 77uf. (so the cap looks alright, yes?)
The fan motor is running great for about 2 min, and then it's getting slower and then stop. The top is getting very hot. The voltage is steady at 240v.
If I shot down the unit, onw hour after I can start it back for about 2-3 min and the same thing is happening again.
Is it the motor for sure? If yes, can it be fix or a new one is needed?
Thanks, Yanick

I'd replace the capacitor. The only way to really know if a cap is bad is to test it under load. The capacitance may be changing as it warms up. And the cap is inexpensive and easy to change.

Inexpensive? Here, they sell it for 60$... Any good source for parts you can suggest?
