In one of the guest cabins there is a GE ac unit model no AZ38H12DADM1 serial no ZG312784,it has always been a very good unit.Here lately it will be on ,running and cooling,and then it will go off.You have to get up and turn it back on and it will run again for a while then go off.Does anyone know what is happening.How can I troubleshoot this thing.

it sounds to me as if it is in the contacter i had a similar deal just the other day. let it run and when it shuts off go check and see if there is 24 volts on your contactor.if there is and it is not engaged then thats the problem.if there isnt 24 volts on the contacter coil than its probably the t-stat.

This is a room ac unit,I didn't see any kinda of contactor on it.Where would the contactor be?Thank you for your time and help.
